  • Licensed Associate Professional Counselor

Lejla Nakičević, MA, LAPC, is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor who practices under the supervision of Catherine Wallace LPC and Dr. Rizwan Ahmad, Psy.D. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, minor in Criminology and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Originally from Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lejla moved to the United States, specifically to pursue her passion for working in the mental health field. Her interest in counseling grew from her experience of being raised in a culture where mental health was often overlooked, despite seeing how it deeply affected people’s daily lives. This perspective inspires her to pursue a career focused on supporting overall wellbeing and helping people achieve meaningful change.

During her time as a graduate student, Lejla gained experience working with adults, adolescents and college students in clinical and community settings. She additionally gained experience with working with adults with special needs during her undergraduate internship. These various experiences helped her shape a compassionate and individualized approach.

Lejla believes counseling works best when it is a collaborative process. She works with people to develop a shared vision for their growth while incorporating mindfulness techniques such as meditation, intention setting and learning to reconnect with the energy needed to move forward.
