Jordan Jones, M.A., is a doctoral student in the Psy.D. program in Counseling Psychology at Saint Elizabeth University in Morristown, New Jersey. He earned his M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Saint Elizabeth University. He currently serves as a Doctoral-level Extern working under the supervision and license of Dr. Rizwan Ahmad.
Jordan has developed his clinical foundation through various graduate counseling experiences and community-based mental health work. His current work as a Health and Wellness Coordinator with Broreavement has allowed him to support individuals from diverse communities as they navigate the deeply emotional spaces created by grief and loss.
His academic, professional, and athletic experiences have shaped his interest in understanding human potential and the many variables that enable individuals to grow and flourish. He is primarily drawn to humanistic and existential approaches that emphasize authenticity, personal freedom, meaning-making, resilience, and the therapeutic relationship. Rather than viewing individuals solely through the lens of their symptoms and experiences, Jordan seeks to understand the whole person, recognizing each individual as a living, growing, and becoming organism shaped and influenced by the numerous identities, relationships, environments, strengths, struggles, and lived experiences they bring to the table. Viewing therapy as an extension of this understanding, Jordan sees it not only as a collaborative process through which clients can deepen their self-understanding, confront barriers, and move toward a more meaningful and fulfilling life, but also as a space where clients are empowered and their ongoing growth is recognized and supported. Within the therapeutic environment, Jordan aims to create a space where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and free to explore who they are beyond the expectations, limitations, or labels placed upon them.
