Natasha Haroon is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Pennsylvania. Natasha earned her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She previously worked at a Substance Abuse facility during her Master’s program internship year and later went on to work at Memorial Hospital’s Community Youth Services as a family therapist and community youth counselor. She had worked with families, couples, children, and adolescents during this time. Natasha also has experience working at two private schools as a school counselor and created a behavioral intervention program for adolescent and teenage students as well as a positive behavioral support system. Natasha also created a curriculum for a mental health introduction class for high school students to understand and identify mental health illnesses and symptoms. Natasha integrates CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Natasha has been able to effectively work with clients on anger management skills, learning healthy coping skills, reducing their anxiety, improving their stress management skills, mindfulness-based practices including meditation, effective communication skills, and setting boundaries.
Natasha has a nonjudgmental approach and can work with faith-based populations while exhibiting cultural competency. Natasha understands that it can be difficult for individuals of different cultures and faiths to find someone who understands them without fear of judgment or exhaust themselves by having to explain their backgrounds. Additionally, Natasha has extensive experience working with the South Asian and Arab populations with both family and individual therapy.
