McKenzie Gelvin, M.A.,  is a third-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology with a Health Emphasis at Touro University in New York, where she has also earned her Master’s Degree in Psychology. She currently serves as a Clinical Extern at the Center for Integrated Behavioral Health, working under the supervision and license of Dr. Roger McFillin. Complementing her clinical psychology training, McKenzie is concurrently pursuing a Master’s of Public Health through New York Medical College.

McKenzie’s research and clinical interests focus on the mind-body connection, with a special emphasis on the relationship between biometric measures and mood. She explores how physiological indicators can inform our understanding of mental health, bridging the gap between physical and psychological well-being. This innovative approach has the potential to lead to more holistic treatment methods in clinical psychology. Additionally, McKenzie incorporates nutritional psychology into her work, studying the crucial relationship between diet and mental health. This emerging field recognizes the significant impact of nutrition on psychological well-being, offering new avenues for intervention and prevention in mental health care.
