Kristin Shiner is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania.  She earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Rosemont College with a concentration in Forensic Counseling and holds an Advanced Drug and Alcohol Counselor certification.

Kristin has largely worked with at-risk youth in the community and residential settings, as well as juvenile and adult offenders reentering the community after periods of incarceration.  Her clinical experience includes the treatment of trauma-related disorders, anger management, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, bereavement and substance abuse.  Kristin integrates CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing and Reality Therapy approaches in her work with clients to assist them in identifying and changing maladaptive was of coping and increasing emotional self-regulation.

The challenges we face in life are inevitable, however, it is how we view and choose to address these challenges that determines what is gained.  Kristin believes that while no one wants to experience discomfort, it is an essential part of the change process and ultimately growing as a person.  She works to provide individuals with a safe environment to explore and develop their strengths in order to enhance their lives.
