  • Licensed Associate Professional Counselor

Hunter Keenan, M.S., LAPC, is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor who practices under the supervision of Dr. Rizwan Ahmad and Catherine Wallace, LPC. He earned his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from PennWest University. Hunter is passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges by integrating evidence-based clinical practices with a strategic, holistic approach to mental and physical well-being.

Hunter has experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults across a range of settings, including family-based therapy (ESFT), community mental health outpatient clinics, and specialized behavioral change clinics. He works with individuals experiencing concerns such as anxiety, stress, chronic fatigue, depression, family conflict, competing responsibilities, and questions surrounding identity and personal growth.

Hunter believes in addressing the “low-hanging fruit” first by focusing on practical routines, lifestyle factors, and nervous system regulation. By establishing greater stability and capacity in these areas, clients can create a stronger foundation for exploring deeper psychological experiences and making meaningful, sustainable changes. Hunter’s approach is grounded in the belief that when individuals feel more supported and resourced, they can begin to move beyond feelings of scarcity and hopelessness toward greater possibility, purpose, and well-being.

At the heart of Hunter’s work is a trusting, collaborative, and deeply client-centered therapeutic relationship. He recognizes the interconnectedness of mental wellness, daily habits, and physical health and tailors his approach to each client’s unique needs, circumstances, and goals. His style is warm, practical, and goal-oriented, creating a structured yet supportive environment where clients feel empowered to take meaningful steps forward.

Hunter strategically integrates evidence-based approaches, blending traditional psychotherapy with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Hypnotherapy (CBT and hypnosis), Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness. His clinical perspective is further informed by current master’s-level studies in applied nutrition and fellowship training in integrative and functional psychiatry. In working with clients—and with parents of younger children—Hunter explores the meaningful connections among routines, physical health, and emotional well-being, helping clients develop practical skills that can support both immediate relief and long-term growth.
