Dr. Amanda Cyr is a post-doctoral resident in clinical psychology working under the supervision of Agnes Lenda, Psy.D.. She graduated from Immaculata University with her Psy.D. in clinical psychology. Dr. Cyr completed her pre-doctoral training at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital where she had the opportunity to provide group and individual therapy and conduct psychological assessments and clinical interviews. As part of her internship year Dr. Cyr also worked at Morristown Medical Center and Atlantic Behavioral Health providing group therapy on an inpatient behavioral health unit and in an intensive outpatient program. Over the past year Dr. Cyr worked as a therapist on an Assertive Community Treatment team in Arizona providing therapy and crisis support in the office and community.
Throughout her training Dr. Cyr has worked primarily with adults who have been diagnosed with serious mental illnesses, depression, anxiety, and co-occurring disorders. She is passionate about group therapy and has been participating in and leading group therapy sessions since the beginning of her graduate training.
Dr. Cyr uses a person-centered approach in conjunction with evidence-based practices during sessions to encourage and support clients through any challenges they may face. She is a warm, collaborative, compassionate clinician who strives to provide a non-judgmental and welcoming space for clients to discuss and process their experiences.
